CONDITIONS OF ENTRY































1. ENTRY FEES: for all works in all categories to be submitted with Entry Form and received by  27 August 2010. CHEQUE AND MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO BUNDABERG ARTS FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION INC


2. ENTRIES: Up to four pieces of work may be entered in each section. All work must comply with section description.


3. ENTRIES: (a) All entries must be the unaided work of the entrant alone. (b) All work must have been completed in the past 12 months. (c) No works may have won a prize at any Art Exhibition. (d) No work may be entered in more than one section.


4. LITERARY ENTRIES: Stories and poetry shall be typed, double spaced, on A4 one side only. Nom de plume may be displayed. The association retains the right to withhold display of any work deemed unsuitable for public readership. Check Section Descriptions for details.


5. SALES: All work must be for sale (excluding Literary Works, Youth and Junior Sections). A commission of 25% will be charged on all sales.


6. IDENTIFICATION: All pieces of art work shall be clearly marked on the back with the Competitor’s name and address, phone number, title, section, medium, and selling price.


7. FRAMING: Paintings, photographs, prints, and other hanging works must be suitably and safely framed; fitted with D hooks; strung ready for hanging and dry; Paintings on stretcher frames will be accepted unless otherwise specified on the condition that staples are in the back and the painting is continued around all four sides.


8. AWARDS: The published amount of an award will not be divided in any section. Any award may be withheld if in the judge’s opinion, none of the work submitted is of an acceptable standard.


9. PUBLICITY: Artists will allow their work to be photographed without a fee during the exhibition for print media and television publicity then and in the future, specifically for the Bundaberg Arts Festival.


10. INSURANCE: Entrants shall be responsible for their own insurance. The Association accepts NO responsibility for loss or damage.


11. DELIVERY: Art works are to be delivered by hand to Bundaberg Civic Centre between 9am-1pm on Saturday 2 October 2010.


12. FREIGHT DELIVERIES: Address freighted work to Bundaberg Arts Festival, marked “HOLD AT DEPOT FOR COLLECTION”. Contact Phone George Beran (07) 4153 5417 or Gail Thompson (07) 4126 8731 or 0412 60 20 19. Entries must arrive by Friday 1 October 2010. No late deliveries accepted. Send no money or stamps.


13. RETURN FREIGHT: Entrants are responsible for delivery AND RETURN of their own work. Freight by bus, Courier or rail be PREPAID. Consignment notes to accompany packages. Work sent AUSTRALIA POST will be returned COD.


14. COLLECTION: Collection of art work between 10am and 1pm on Sunday 10 October 2010. No works shall be removed during the exhibition. Works not collected will become the property of the Association after one month.


15. DECISIONS: The decision of the judge is final. The association will not enter into discussion or correspondence regarding a decision. The Association reserves the right to reject any work submitted.

NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION FOR ENTRANTS

1. SIZE SPECIFICATIONS: Those paintings that do not comply strictly with Section Descriptions will be hung but not judged. This includes a difference as small as 1mm. NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE keep this in mind.


2. NO CHANGES IN TITLES OR PRICES: will be permitted after deadlines for entry forms (27 August 2010). The catalogue will be printed from ORIGINAL Entry Forms.


3. LITERARY WORK: must be accompanied by 3 copies of original manuscript.

Bundaberg Arts Festival is held in the first week in October each year. It has been running for over 30 years and is one of the most varied and valuable provincial Arts Festivals in Queensland.
